Red-Light Accident Claims Motorcyclist’s Life
Earlier this month, a motorcyclist was involved in a fatal accident when he entered a suburban intersection at the same time as another motorist, causing a collision between the two vehicles. According to a local news report, the accident occurred as the motorcyclist entered the intersection heading southbound, and the other car entered the intersection heading eastbound. Reports indicate that one of the motorists ran a red light; however, authorities are still in the process of conducting the investigation into the fatal accident to determine which of the two motorists may have run the red light. It was not mentioned if the intersection has cameras installed.
One of the responding officers told reporters that “people aren’t paying attention.” He elaborated that “It’s these nice days that we have these bad accidents on. I think people are distracted thinking about other things and that leads to these kind of fatal accidents.”
